Attaché — Terms of Use

Effective 17 August 2026. These terms govern the Attaché desktop

application, the Attaché website, and the Attaché Cloud subscription. By

installing or using Attaché you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use

it.

1. What Attaché is

Attaché is a desktop assistant that runs on your own computer. It keeps a

memory of what you tell it, can call tools on your behalf, and can answer using

either a language model bundled with the app or a cloud model.

It is software, not a professional. Its answers are generated by language

models and can be wrong, out of date, or confidently mistaken. Nothing it

produces is legal, medical, tax, accounting or investment advice.

2. Your account and your data

Accounts are local to your machine. You are responsible for the security of the

computer Attaché runs on and for any credentials you link to it. Because your

memory and settings are stored locally, we cannot recover them if they are

lost — see the Privacy Policy.

You keep ownership of everything you put into Attaché. We claim no licence over

your content, and we do not use it to train models.

3. Acceptable use

Do not use Attaché to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, to access

systems or accounts you are not authorised to use, to generate material that

sexually exploits children, or to harass or defraud people. Do not use it to

send unsolicited bulk messages, or to circumvent the rate limits, quotas or

security of any service it connects to.

Attaché can run commands and edit files on your computer when you allow it. You

are responsible for what you approve. Approve nothing you do not understand.

4. Financial features

Attaché can display market data and read balances and positions from brokerage

and exchange accounts you link.

designed to execute a trade.

information. They may be delayed, incomplete or wrong.

prices. They are not predictions and not investment advice. Past

performance does not indicate future results.

no fiduciary relationship is created by your use of Attaché.

Decisions about your money are yours. Consult a licensed professional.

5. Third-party services

Attaché connects to services we do not control — model providers (Anthropic,

Groq, OpenRouter, Google), market data and news sources, brokerages

and exchanges, Google and Microsoft accounts, and Stripe for payments. Your use

of those services is governed by their terms, and we are not responsible for

their availability, accuracy or conduct.

6. Building on Attaché

We want other software to be able to work with Attaché, and these terms permit

it. Attaché exposes a local HTTP API on your own machine, and issues bearer

tokens for integrations (the Obsidian plugin uses this path).

You may, without asking us:

using tokens issued by that instance;

vault format;

You must not:

name or logo in a way that suggests we made, endorse or support it — naming

it "for Attaché" or "works with Attaché" is fine;

or tokens anywhere they have not been clearly told about and agreed to;

prompt, or to disable a permission the user has not turned off themselves;

product, or resell access to it. Cloud quotas are per subscriber, for that

subscriber's own use.

If your integration handles other people's data, you are the one responsible to

them for it. We provide no warranty or indemnity for integrations, and we may

change the local API between versions — it is versioned by the app you are

running, not promised as stable.

7. Subscriptions and payment

Attaché Cloud is a paid subscription billed through Stripe.

from the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current

paid period.

refundable. If something goes wrong on our side, write to us — we would

rather fix it than argue about it.

8. The free tier

The free tier is offered as-is and may be limited, throttled, changed or

withdrawn. It relies in part on shared third-party quotas that we do not

control, and it may be unavailable at times. The model bundled with the

installer keeps working regardless, offline.

9. Software licence

You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install

and use Attaché on computers you control, for personal or business use. You may

not remove notices, misrepresent the origin of the software, or distribute a

modified build as though it were ours.

Attaché ships third-party components under their own licences, including Ollama

(MIT), Qwen2.5 3B Instruct (Apache 2.0) and all-MiniLM-L6-v2 (Apache 2.0).

Those licences continue to apply to those components and nothing here overrides

them.

10. No warranty

Attaché is provided **"as is" and "as available", without warranty of any

kind**, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular

purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be

uninterrupted, error-free, or that its output will be correct.

The desktop build is not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen will warn

before it runs. Only install a copy obtained from our own download page or

release page.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect,

incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits,

lost data, lost memory contents, or trading or financial losses, arising from

your use of Attaché.

Our total liability for any claim relating to Attaché is limited to the greater

of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions; where that is so, they apply

only to the extent permitted, and nothing here limits liability for fraud,

death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot

lawfully be excluded.

12. Ending your use

You may stop using Attaché at any time and delete it. We may suspend or end

access to Attaché Cloud for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or

where required by law. Sections 2, 6, 10, 11 and 13 survive.

13. General

These terms are the whole agreement between us about Attaché. If a provision is

held unenforceable, the rest stands. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of

it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them to a successor of the

business.

We may update these terms; the effective date above will change and the current

version will be published at the address below. Continuing to use Attaché after

a material change means you accept the new version.
